1. What is ColorCars?

Though we've been in business for nearly 20 years, ColorCars remains a new type of service business; a revolutionary new type of used car dealer through which you can order almost any vehicle you want. ColorCars is your private car and truck dealer. We operate on your behalf for your benefit.

2. What are "experienced automobiles" ™?

The trademarked phrase "experienced automobile ™" is our way of distinguishing the product we sell from the traditional "used car". A ColorCars experienced automobile ™ is one that is: * in like-new condition * with factory warranty intact, and * certified by independent, professional inspectors to be "collision and flood results free". And while we're discussing terminology, let's clarify the term "used". A "used" vehicle is simply one that has been titled. But a car that has been issued a title doesn't necessarily mean a well-worn vehicle with lots of miles on the odometer. Once titled, a brand new car suddenly becomes a "used" car, and that's when its value drops like a rock, regardless of how few miles are on the odometer. For a wide variety of reasons, many pristine, low and moderate mileage vehicles become available at auction. ColorCars seeks out the best still under original warranty, and then subjects them to careful, professional inspection, no matter how perfect the vehicle appears to be.

3. What makes buying from ColorCars different?

When you buy through ColorCars, you order the vehicle you want. You specify the price, the make and the year, among other things, right down to the color of the interior if you wish. ColorCars then buys the vehicle for you in the wholesale marketplace and delivers it to you. Professionals do all the legwork to find you the best vehicle possible while you sit back and relax.

4. Does this mean I am obliged to buy a vehicle I have never seen?

Absolutely not. Your acceptance of the vehicle is subject to your inspection and that it meets all of the specific items named in your acquisition agreement.

5. How does ColorCars earn its money?

ColorCars earns its money only after it delivers a car, truck, van, or SUV to you that you accept and purchase. At that point, ColorCars collects its commission specified in the written agreement. An exceptional benefit of dealing with ColorCars is that you can control the commission. When you order a readily available vehicle, with readily available features and colors, you pay a lower commission than the client who requires a needle in a haystack in metallic green only. The less time and effort required on our end, the less you pay. We think you would agree that's fair. And it's just one of the ways that ColorCars protects your interests.

6. What happens if ColorCars delivers a vehicle that does not fit the agreement completely?

If ColorCars should deliver a vehicle that does not fit the agreement, you would not have to buy it. You would tell ColorCars what has not met with your specifications. ColorCars will then correct the mistake at its expense or deliver a different vehicle that does completely comply with your order. It's rare that we goof, but when we do, we fix it.

7. ColorCars sounds too good to be true. Why is that?

Because ColorCars was started from scratch as a new concept, we were able to eliminate all the "bad habits" built into the traditional approach to automobile sales. We analyzed what was wrong and simply corrected the flaws. The result was ColorCars...experienced automobiles ™; a unique approach to used car sales designed from the outset to be almost too good to be true. Our only goal, other than a profit, was to reinvent the used car business to be completely in the client's favor.

8. How was ColorCars able to create a business completely client oriented?

ColorCars analyzed the inefficiencies of the used car business, and eliminated the factors that inflate car prices but bring very little benefit to the client. Our sleek system eliminates the high cost of inventory, real estate, salespeople, and expensive advertising. So, unlike traditional dealerships that must pass big overhead costs on to their customers, ColorCars is able to pass the savings on to its clients. By eliminating nearly all unnecessary expenses, our clients can reap some impressive savings. At ColorCars, our goal is to always save you time, money, and to protect your interests. That's our idea of "client oriented".

9. Who are ColorCars' clients?

Most of our clients are former "new" car buyers. Many thought they had no choice but to over-pay for a new vehicle in order to get quality and security. Once they found ColorCars, all the reasons for spending thousands of extra dollars for "new" simply evaporated. Our clients are intelligent people who see no reason to waste their money. They want excellent value for every dollar. Many a client has realized, for example, that they could afford a good mid-range vehicle if they bought new, but could step-up to a luxury class vehicle through ColorCars. Why not a BMW, Mercedes or a Lexus, or any other vehicle formerly beyond consideration? Our clients are busy people. They have neither the time nor the desire to march from one used car lot to another. They don't want to listen to salespeople who try to push them into whatever happens to be on the lot that day, regardless of the customer's needs or desires. Our clients are often short on time, but never short on intelligence. Our clients include attorneys, physicians, police officers, teachers, real estate professionals, executives, and many others who expect courteous, professional service. They are women, teenagers, and retirees who want excellent value and fairness. And they are parents who want to be sure their kids are in the safest vehicle their money can buy. In short, our clients are people who appreciate the many benefits of the ColorCars system.

10. How can ColorCars deliver vehicles with such a small percentage commission?

By keeping overhead to a minimum, having no traditional used car salespeople, no inventory, no high-priced real estate to support, and no expensive advertising, ColorCars is able to make a profit on some surprisingly low percentage commissions.

11. From where does ColorCars obtain my vehicle for me?

Vehicles are primarily purchased through the Florida dealer markets. Through these enormous clearinghouses, car dealers and institutions from throughout the country bring excess inventory, trade-ins, and off lease vehicles. These vehicles are sold at auction and new vehicles are acquired by dealers as new inventory for their lots. The auction system is, in large part, a means for traditional dealerships to replenish inventory. The inefficiency and high cost of this inventory based approach is pretty obvious. ColorCars takes advantage of this built-in inefficiency in the inventory based system. We buy vehicles for our clients from other dealers who are very much in the mood to sell. Depending on the vehicle you order, we can get some great deals. Sometimes, we find dealers particularly anxious to sell, and sometimes there is simply a glut on the market of a particular make or model. On most occasions, we have filled orders for less than our client expected to pay, sometimes far less! When this happens, we pass those savings on to the client. What's more, we see as many as 15,000 vehicles in a week, which makes it likely that your ColorCars order will be filled before too long.

12. I am concerned about vehicles sold at auction. Should I be?

Yes and no. There is no doubt that some of the vehicles dealers try to unload at auction are real disasters in the making. Our bidders have a pretty good eye for spotting vehicles that have suffered odometer tampering, flooding, or cosmetic makeovers. But we don't leave it at that because it is possible for us to be fooled. (Imagine how an amateur would fare?) We spend the extra time and money to have professionals at the auction thoroughly inspect each vehicle we have for structural and flood damage not readily visible to even a trained eye. These inspectors are independent of ColorCars, of all other dealers, and independent of the auction company. When they find problems, they say so and when they don't, they certify their work. Unfortunately, only a small minority of dealers buying at auctions use the services of inspectors because of the added time and cost. ColorCars will not deliver any vehicle to its clients without this thorough inspection. Of course, not even ColorCars can guarantee that a vehicle will be perfect. That's why every vehicle purchased is under factory warranty, giving you added protection right from the vehicle's manufacturer.

13. What happens if ColorCars does deliver what turns out to be a "lemon"?

If you should end up with problems and you are dissatisfied with the manner in which the manufacturer corrects the situation, get in touch with us. We want you to be completely satisfied, even when problems are not our fault. We will do whatever is necessary, ultimately taking your vehicle back and re-filling your order!

14. Where do I take my ColorCars vehicle for warranty service?

You simply take it to your local new car dealership that sells that vehicle. That you obtained the vehicle through ColorCars has no effect on the manufacturer's warranty. It will be honored by the local dealership's service department.

15. How does ColorCars handle my present trade-in vehicle?

ColorCars views your trade-in vehicle as your asset, something that belongs to you. Accordingly, we do not feel we should take a profit from your trade. We believe it is our job to help you get the most for your trade, so you can buy more vehicle for yourself using the ColorCars system. ColorCars has devised several ways to get the maximum trade value. Options vary depending on several factors, including your location.
